In the interview, Whitaker jokes that flushable wipes must have been invented by a plumber who wanted more jobs because, despite the package saying you can flush them, Whitaker states that you should not do that because they do not break down and can cause a real plumbing issue for you and your family.
Mihalovich adds that because the wipes don’t break down, they will just build up in your plumbing until they cause a stoppage.
The pair of plumbers agree that people should be cautious of what they put in their drains. Both Whitaker and Mihalovich state that things like wipes, coffee grounds, food and grease should not go into your drain because these things cause a high risk for forming blockages.
